qoLyf Privacy Policy

qoLyf ("we", "us") runs qolyf.com. It's a free tool that helps Filipino private-sector employees understand their SSS pension, PhilHealth, and Pag-IBIG benefits. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and your rights under the Philippines Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173).

The short version
- The calculators work without an account. What you type stays in your browser and in the page link. We don't store it on our servers.
- An account is optional. If you make one, we keep what we need to sign you in, plus anything you post in Community.
- We don't sell your data. We never hold your money, never connect to your bank, and never earn commissions.
1. Using the calculators (no account)
The numbers you enter, such as salary, age, years paid, and months contributed, are kept in the page URL and in your browser's storage. They are not saved to our servers. They sit in the part of the link after #, which your browser never sends to us, so they don't appear in our hosting logs either.
Anyone you share the link with can see the numbers in it. To remove them, clear your browser's site data and don't share the link.
2. If you create an account
An account is optional. You can sign up in one of two ways:
- Email and a one-time code. We collect your email address. The code is sent by our email provider, Resend.
- Sign in with Google. Google shares your name, email address, and Google account ID with us. We never see your Google password. We use this information only to create your account and sign you in. We request only Google's basic sign-in permissions (
openid,email,profile). We don't get access to your Gmail, contacts, Drive, or anything else, and we don't keep a Google access token after sign-in.
After you sign in, a cookie keeps you signed in for up to 30 days.
If you use Community, we store what you post: thoughts and achievements (up to 280 characters), comments, Heart and Hug reactions, and the name shown with them. Your posts show your first name and last initial (for example, "Lina R."). We never show your email address to other users.
3. Data collected automatically
Our hosting provider, Vercel, may keep technical logs, such as your IP address, browser type, pages requested, and the time of each request. These logs are used to run the site securely. They don't include your calculator inputs. Logs are kept for a short period under Vercel's standard settings.
We don't use analytics, advertising trackers, or third-party scripts. Fonts are bundled with the site, so your browser doesn't contact Google Fonts.

We do not use your data to give financial advice, to target ads, or to sell to anyone.
5. Who we share it with
We use service providers that process data for us:
- Vercel: website hosting
- Neon: database (Postgres) where account and Community data is stored
- Resend: sending sign-in emails
- Google: only if you choose Sign in with Google
Other signed-in qoLyf users can see your Community posts, comments, reactions, and display name. Signed-out visitors and search engines can't.
We may disclose data if the law or a lawful order requires it.
We do not sell or rent personal data.
6. Where your data is stored
Account and Community data is stored in a Neon Postgres database in the United States (Washington, D.C. area), and the site runs on Vercel servers in the same region. This means your data is transferred outside the Philippines. We stay responsible for protecting it as RA 10173 requires.
7. How long we keep it
- Calculator inputs: in your browser until you clear them. We don't keep them.
- Account data: while your account exists. We delete it within 30 days of a deletion request.
- Community content: until you delete it or your account is deleted. Your posts, comments, and reactions are removed when your account is deleted.
- Logs and backups: kept for up to 30 days under our providers' settings, then deleted.
8. Your rights
Under the Data Privacy Act you have the right to:
- be informed about how your data is used
- access your data
- correct inaccurate data
- object to processing
- have your data erased or blocked
- get a copy of your data (data portability)
- claim damages for unlawful processing
- file a complaint with the National Privacy Commission (privacy.gov.ph)
To use any of these rights, email privacy@qolyf.com. We reply within 15 days.
9. Deleting your account
You can delete your own posts and comments at any time. To delete your account, email privacy@qolyf.com from your account's email address.
10. Security
The site only works over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Sign-in cookies can't be read by page scripts, and passwords are never stored in plain text. Access to the database is limited to the qoLyf team and the app. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your data, we will notify you and the National Privacy Commission as the law requires.
11. Age
qoLyf is for people 18 years old and over. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone younger.
12. Changes to this policy
When we change this policy, we update this page and the "Last updated" date. For significant changes, we will tell signed-in users with a notice on the site and by email.
